Dana first contacted us in August 2019 through The Knot when she saw our “amazing reviews and recommendations.” She was searching for a coordinator to help ease the process for one of the most popular wedding dates of 2020. (10-10-2020 to be exact!) Of course, at that time, neither of us planned the pandemic to be going on during the coming year.
Dana and her fiancé Victor stayed hopeful and did not change their wedding date like many other couples did all during the year. We were so happy they were able to stick to their plans and keep their original date! They were the sweetest couple and I loved being able to witness their love for each other!
They chose to get married on the side of a small mountain in Whitsett, NC at The Hideaway at Crooked Creek. Their ceremony options are beautiful overlooking the many trees they have all over their land.
While Dana and her bridesmaids got ready with Alex and Sam Wheeley from Hair Refinery doing Hair & Makeup inside the house onsite, my assistant Julia, and I set up the ceremony and reception space. Dana ordered white, floorlength linens from Something Borrowed and made most of the rest of her decorations, including her centerpieces, signs, and the cutest Bar Menu (together with her and Victor’s dogs!)
The venue set out the tables and chairs which was extremely helpful! We put some finishing touches on the space by lining the ceremony chairs up perfectly symmetrical and giving Dana and Victor their personalized sign made by the Exceptional Events team!
After our team lined up the attendants and sent them all down the aisle, the ceremony began. Jac Grimes of All Faith’s Wedding Officiants led the ceremony under the tent due to a forecast of bad rain. I love that Shana captured a picture of Jac sharing a tissue to wipe the groom's tears after seeing his beautiful bride.
After the ceremony, luckily, Dana and Victor were at least allowed to take their formal pictures beside the arbor and waterfall, which is where they originally planned to have their ceremony. Shana Leigh Photography captured the day. Shana and her assistant were so kind and easy to work with! More of her beautiful pictures can be found here in Our Gallery.
Moorefield Florist assembled the bouquets and boutonnieres with the popular blue thistle and timeless red roses amongst other beautiful fall colored flowers.
Our team was only contracted through the end of the ceremony. After we moved the chairs from the ceremony space to the reception space and confirmed times with the other vendors, we departed. After cocktail hour, dinner was served in the reception tent by Everly’s Catering and music was played by DJ Brianna Gonzalas. The lovely two-tiered cake and two other separate cakes for guests were made by Jonathan Gonzolas. The newly weds ended the night with a sparkler sendoff outside the house.
